    Answer: 1st SMS sent in Dec' 1992.

    It was sent by "Neil Papworth" (guy in the pic) of Sema Group(logo above Merry Christmas).

    He Texted "Merry Christmas".
    It was send on "Vodafone" network and received by Richard Jarvis(who was using an Orbitel 901 handset).
